About Us

The Denise David Collection is a modern fashion agency that provides exclusive custom garments and beautifully designed quality-made ready to wear pieces for women.

In the year 2000, Denise David journeyed to Toronto, Ontario, and enrolled in the prestigious Seneca College’s Fashion Arts program. After graduation, she took time to travel and explore the Asian countries of Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. There, she learned the art of unique colour coordination and gained sought-after knowledge on various types of exotic textiles.

In her pursuit to become a master in her field, after touching back home, Denise volunteered for prolific Canadian designers and competed in local fashion shows. Through these powerful experiences, Denise gained increased exposure in the Toronto fashion industry, while further expanding her skills, knowledge and creative prowess.

Naturally, the Denise David Collection came into existence – a fashion agency focusing on enhancing the most beautiful art in the world, the woman’s body, through custom, form-fitted apparel. Denise works closely with her prestigious clientele to deliver designs that bring vision to fruition.

In addition to her day-to-day design work, Denise spends time with fellow designers to provide consulting services that include pattern development, body image analysis, and garment construction.

Fashion is like virtual art expressing who you are through fabric, colours and style.

FAQs

How long does it take to create a custom garment?

It depends on the complexity of the garment but it usually takes 3 weeks for smaller projects, and 1 to 2 months for larger projects as long as there are no delays (and it is not during the busy season).

Do I have to leave a deposit?

Yes, you have to leave a 50% deposit on the cost of garment to start production. Final payment is to be made once the garment is complete.

Are fabrics included in prices?

Fabrics are an additional price and are to be paid in full before final sample production starts.

Do you have to get your own fabrics?

We have a few options –

The first is that you can provide your own fabrics as long as it meets the requirements and quality for the garment, in order to keep the integrity of the style.

The second option is to schedule a fabric research/shopping appointment to look at fabrics together.

Alternatively, if you would rather not take part in the research process we can find the proper fabrics, colours and textures needed and present them through either pictures or swatches, and you can select what you like.

Can you cancel a custom order?

Return Policy: All custom orders are final sale once production has started.

Ready-to-wear garments can be returned within 2 weeks of purchase for a full refund. Return shipping costs must be organized and paid by the customer unless there are defects in the product. If there are defects, the customer must email Denise David Collection with a photo of the defective product. Once confirmed, Denise David Collection will return the courier cost once the product has been shipped and received back to the destination.

What is a mock up fitting?

A mock up fitting is a pre-fitting of the garment in a lower-end fabric to test run the pattern and to determine if there are any major alterations needed to be addressed before starting production on the desired fabrics. This process is very helpful because it helps with determining proper styling, cuts and fit for the customer’s body shape.

How long does it take to create wedding/bridal wear?

Wedding & Bridal: This is a longer, intimate process and the Denise David Collection spends quality time with each of their brides in an efficient way, in order to ensure all steps are made before the wedding date.

Process:

Involves a one on one consultation.

  • 3 to 6 detailed sketches of desired wedding dress ideas
  • 4 to 6 monthly breakdown schedule which consist of the fitting dates and fabric research field trips

All alterations are included within the package.

A contract is created listing all the details, dates, confidentiality, and policies that ensure both parties are protected during the duration of the custom dress process, and that all conditions and requirements that have been discussed are finalized by the due date.

Payments: Customers have the option of making a full payment, or a 50% deposit plus cost of fabric to start production. If selecting the deposit option, final payment is made once the garment is complete.
